Fraueninterventionsstelle (FIS) – Women’s office for interventions

The intervention office for women is a counselling office for women, who experience a police intervention regarding domestic violence. There you find counselling and get the relevant information, how to escape violence.

Shelter for battered women – Frauen Helfen Frauen e.V. and state capital Stuttgart

Shelter for battered women in Stuttgart offer anonymous accommodation and protection for women and their children in case of mental, physical and/or experience of sexual violence independent from income, nationality, religious confession or age.

In the shelter for battered women
  • you will get support and company in your new situation of life
  • you live in furniture rooms together with your children and share a living room, kitchen, bathroom, children’s playroom and laundry with other women and children

Counselling Centers, youth wellfare office – state capital Stuttgart

The Youth Welfare Office of the city maintain ten counselling offices for youth and family with branches in different city districts. Their task is to provide psycho-social base supply for persons in the age between 0 and 63. The basic services is to supply counselling and support regarding social, educational, psychic and material related questions. The counselling offices also take over a first hand counselling for women with children after a police intervention in case of domestic violence.

Center of protection for children Stuttgart

The center of protection for children is a counselling office for parents, children and qualified persons regarding all questions of protection for children. It’s task is in connection with STOP (Stuttgarter Ordnungspartnerschaft gegen häusliche Gewalt) to provide a contact person for children who experienced violence between their parents or between close psychological parents and a police mission. The contact person speaks about the experience with girls and boys, explains the situation, helps take the burden off of them, and provides himself with an impression about the inner psychological situation and necessary need for support.

  • Counselling, therapy and groups for children, who have experience violence between their parents and have experienced a police intervention
  • Counselling and support of children and adolescents as well as parents or other psychological parents of children in case the children are affected by physical or psychological violence, are neglected or by sexual abuse.
  • Counselling, case discussion, conferences for assisting persons, supervision and trainings for qualified persons with regards to questions concerning the protection of children

Police

The police appears locally in case of domestic violence if called by affected persons or others. In case of households with children the support service for crisis and emergencies is involved, which takes care of the girls and boys.
The officers have the option to declare a dismissal from the apartment. In this case the violent person has to leave the apartment he/she lived in with the victim and the near area and he/she have to stay away from the premisses for a certain period.

Accompanying witnesses in court and lawsuits

Accompanying witnesses is done by specially trained persons and honorary persons experienced in court affairs or social pedagogical persons. Especially in case of sexual or intense depicts with violence it is helpful for the victims/witnesses to have a contact person as early as possible during the lawsuit. In civil/family related lawsuit including violence issues accompanying to court can be done.

If needed a comprehensive psycho social supervision during lawsuits can be offered. The witnesses are supported by arrangements with lawyers and court to maintain their rights.

Networking

Accompanying witnesses works as the interim between justiciary and pedagogy, supports a regional networking between police, judiciary, youth offices and other psycho social special services and works as an advocate for the interests of victims and witnesses.

Office for Legal petitions – district court Stuttgart

The office for legal petitions accepts and documents petitions and declarations required for courts and helps to provide them in a correct formal manner. Persons affected by violence can place their petitions regarding measures following from the law of protection against violence here.

In addition citizens with residence in the district of the local court have the opportunity to get counselling from a lawyer in the building of the local court, ground floor room 80, every Tuesday from 9:00 – 11:00 h and 14:00 – 16:00 h and the lawyer can appear for themselves. The office for legal petitions can provide a voucher for these cases (service charge is 10€).
